To the Very End

Sermon Notes

Text – Matthews 28:19-20

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Mark 16:15 – He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Review….The call, the cost, the commission

One of the greatest thoughts is, God has not asked us to do anything alone! We do not have to do it alone. God is with us! Others are with us in this journey.

Is this the end?

Matthew 24:1-14; 32-35

24 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2 “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[e] is near, right at the door. 34 Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

I do not know if this is the end…I just know a few things. I know what happens in the end …I know the ending…We (Those in Christ -Win)
and secondly …the Christ is with us to the very end of the age. We will then be with Christ for eternity.

1. God is with us!

Isaiah 41:10 – 10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

2. God is before us and behind us.

Psalm 139:5
New Living Translation
You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.

3. God will teach us everything we need to know through the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

God’s spirit living is us so we can live out who we have been created and called to BE.

1 John 2:27

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit–just as it has taught you, remain in him.

4. God will Never Leave Us!

Hebrews 13:5 – Never will I leave you!
